OUR STORY - THE BEGINNING
As a young, hopeful musician, bassist, I had to learn very quickly how difficult it was going to be for me to protect my beloved bass guitar. A professional musician of five years, my journey began 12 years ago; it took me moments to realize the sparsely protective default bags were not an option. Sure, I could invest in a “good” bag, but not only were those heavy, they were also beyond what I could reasonably afford as a struggling artist trying to make it on my own. Not carrying my instrument was obviously impossible, so I did the next best thing. As someone who has never shied away from grit and hard-work, much like with my career, I stopped fishing in the limited pond offered to me and started working on what I wanted. The process was long, tedious, but through the mixing and matching of countless materials, I found the perfect combination. Light weight, extremely padded, and most of all, affordable, my bags were perfect to take my bass to practices and gigs with zero concern. At that point it only made sense that I shared my perfect bag with other budding, passionate Indian musicians who’ve been struggling to find their right bag. And thus began

Cleftomaniac began as a personal mission — a musician trying to solve real problems faced by fellow artists.
What started with designing better guitar bags has grown into a dedicated team of passionate professionals committed to elevating the music community. Our purpose evolved: not just to protect their instruments, but to help them stand out with stylish, comfortable, and thoughtfully crafted accessories. One of the biggest gaps we noticed was in guitar straps. For years, musicians settled for basic straps bundled with their instruments or low‑quality alternatives available in the market. These lacked proper structure, durability, and the ergonomic support needed during long practice sessions, recording hours, or high‑energy gigs.
